The Senior Proposal Development Professional assembles Request for Proposal (RFP)/Request for Information (RFI) responses into full proposal output. The Senior Proposal Development Professional assumes a hybrid Project Management/Proposal Writing/Content Curation role on a consistent scale for mid-to-large scale, standard opportunities. The Senior Proposal Development Professional curates content, collaborates with business partners, subject matter experts (SME) and community-facing teams across the enterprise to produce comprehensive, winning proposals.
Humana is seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented, and creative Senior Proposal Development Professional who is seeking an opportunity for growth in a progressive organization.
The Senior Proposal Development Professional is primarily responsible for managing the response to standard public or private issued RFPs/RFIs, including project management, written narratives, and production necessary for final external delivery. Scope of work includes sales strategy collaboration, capture management, proposal development, submission, and follow-up and requires collaboration with business partners and subject matter experts (SME) to ensure output positions Humana in the best possible way and leads to winning business. Decisions are typically focused on methods, tactics and processes for completing strategic RFP responses to potential and existing customers. The Senior Proposal Development Professional understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Regularly exercises discretion and judgment in prioritizing requests and interpreting and adapting procedures, processes and techniques, and works under limited guidance due to previous experience/breadth and depth of knowledge.

Additional Responsibilities:
- Influences strategy development and uses independent judgement to complete moderately complex work, often requiring in-depth analysis of various requests contained within an RFP.
- Proactive in nature and draws from broad knowledge and expertise, often making recommendations based on experience with previous RFP projects.
- The role requires limited guidance on everyday tasks with general direction on new assignments, though ownership of timelines and priorities is left to the Senior Proposal Development Professional based on deliverables.
Use your skills to make an impact
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated ability to craft a compelling sales message including key differentiators
- Proven experience strategizing with sales to create tailored, impactful responses
- 5+ years of technical writing experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills
- Sales experience and/or partnerships preferred
- 1+ years of marketing experience preferred
- Public Sector experience is preferred

Work at Home Requirements
At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.
· Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership
· Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
· Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
· Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information
Local travel may be required; Mileage is reimbursed.

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$69,800 – $96,200 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
